The Office of Multicultural Academic Services, while open to all students, emphasizes academic support to students from the following populations: African American, Asian American, Hispanic/Latino, Pacific Islander, Native American, Multi-racial, LGBTQ, first generation, students from rural communities and students who have a reported disability.
Multicultural Academic Services consists of a variety of distinct programs collaborating to reach a singular objective: to provide academic support services that foster the recruitment, retention, and graduation of students, especially underrepresented students at UNC Charlotte. Services rendered include but are not limited to academic advising, academic issues workshops, peer counseling and tutoring, and personal counseling. Moreover, the office serves as a clearinghouse for information and referrals to other university resources and academic support services.

GEAR UP High School Day
Friday, January 22, 2016 | Student Union
The Office of Multicultural Academic Services at UNC Charlotte is once again happy to host GEAR UP High School Day. GEAR UP High School Day will be an opportunity for area high school students to learn “the next steps” in college enrollment. Students will have the opportunity to meet with personnel from various campus offices to understand how their educational choices can affect their future choices. The day will include a campus tour, a student panel, academic support programs, family support programs and student clubs and organizations will also conduct presentations in order to introduce students and parents to the numerous opportunities on our campus.
